Jack Johnston

is a Bristol based editor and drone pilot. With ten years of industry experience, he brings a diverse skill set to shoots and edits.

His edit background includes award-winning live productions and a number Natural History Landmark series. He has worked across a huge variety of programming and large scale BBC live shows (Blue Planet Live, Wild Alaska Live). More recently he has been editing the Arctic Ocean episode of the Netflix Landmark series “Our Oceans”

As a drone pilot, he has worked in challenging environments, from extreme temperatures to high winds. He has over 750+ hours of flying, with over 200+ boat launches, for over 50 different broadcast drone shoots.

Jack is also an experienced FPV pilot. With a range of custom built FPV drones, carrying everything from GoPros to custom cinema grade cameras such as the RED Komodo. Jack has provided immersive FPV shots for a range of productions. Jack has recently developed a number of fully waterproof FPV drones that can fly in any weather conditions.

The combination of drone work and storytelling has enabled him to develop innovative drone techniques never before seen on TV.
